This extremely talented photographer, Sydney Rose Photography , is home for the summer so we decided to have some fun! This time she chose another client of mine, Kelsey. If Kelsey looks familiar to some of you, she is also my helpful makeup assistant.
Kelsey is a budding artist who writes her own songs, sings and plays guitar which inspired both the photographer and myself. Details on her look below.

I always love when my talented daughter wants to do a photo shoot! Sydney is super creative and pretty much lets me do whatever I want, makeup wise. I’ve also become the stylist on these shoots, which excites me! Check out her website at Sydney Rose Photography for more of her captivating photography. (Seriously, she is soooo good!)
Sydney loves to use my clients as models and this time she chose Katherine. Katherine is beautiful inside and out. I absolutely love her gorgeous skin and cute freckles. For this shoot, I airbrushed a bit of foundation and kept her freckles visible, used the new “Soft Glam” palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills for her eyes, some contour, plum blush and also pushed some dark brick red gloss on her lips with my finger to keep it organic. Here a portrait from the shoot.

You don’t find love, it finds you. It’s got a little bit to do with destiny, fate, and what’s written in the stars.” -Anäis Nin
Jessi and Yianne planned a wedding in Aiken while living in Virginia and what a beautiful job they did! I had the pleasure of doing her makeup along with her bridesmaids makeup for her special day. (Keep an eye out for those photos later!)

As my clients know….. I LOVE my job! It is what I’ve wanted to be before I knew that people could do it for a living. (Remember, those were the days before YouTube and “beauty influencers.”)
It brings me joy to see the confidence it inspires in women. One of my favorite aspects of my job is that of a teacher. I enjoy teaching all ages some of my professional makeup tips I’ve learned through all the years.
This brings me to the adorable Ashlyn and her hands on makeup lesson …. I think she rocked it! What do you think? ♥️♥️♥️
Katherine came to me through referrals from a few of my clients and I was so excited to meet this beauty. We texted back and forth a bit to make sure we were both on the same page for her makeup for prom. Katherine said she wanted natural but with glitter. I used soft browns, smudged, barely there liner, Urban Decay glitter and of course, lashes to finish off the eyes. Her luminous skin was topped off with airbrush foundation (that kept those adorable freckles on her nose), contour, a pop of color on the cheeks and an Anastasia Beverly Hills lip.

Now, this captivating beauty might look familiar to you! She is posted all over my website, has been my model and I also am her makeup artist for her fun occasions. This time, it is for prom.
When Baileigh showed me a picture of her unique prom dress, I instantly thought of what her makeup should look like. She has been experimenting more in her makeup looks and we decided to do a dark smoky eye that made those hypnotic eyes even more blue! I’ve coined this eye look the “screw you eye!” 🤣🤣. Hey sometimes a girl needs to find and show her fire. Am I right? Makeup details below.

This was my first time meeting Brooke and we had a blast together! Brooke wanted a contoured eye with a bit of silver sparkle and fabulous lashes to compliment her gorgeous dress. I also added airbrushed foundation along with contour, and a soft pink on her cheeks and lips. I hope Brooke felt as gorgeous as she looked!

Sometimes trusting your face to a new makeup artist can be scary. I can just imagine what my new clients are thinking . . . is she going to make me look like a clown, does she keep everything sanitary, what if I don’t like it, can I be honest with her, what are her qualifications . . . just to name a few. This is why makeup trials are so important, no matter the event.
In walks Rhi, a natural beauty, for her prom makeup trial. We sat down and talked for a bit. She told me that she doesn’t wear much makeup, if any at all but wanted a new look for prom. She showed me her stunning black dress and we discussed how she was going to wear her hair too. This way, she will have a cohesive look for her senior prom!

I was so excited when I got to meet Riley to do her makeup for cotillion pictures. We sat a talked a bit before we got started. (This is something I like to do for all my clients. It helps my clients feel more comfortable, allows me to find out their likes, dislikes, skin type and helps me provide the best service possible.)
I found out that Riley did her homework and stalked my Instagram page, which I ♥️♥️♥️. I think all my clients should do their research. She found several looks that she really liked so I decided to do a combo of them and used my brand new palette from Pat McGrath Labs. (Want to learn more about Pat McGrath Labs, watch a video here. )
