Being a makeup artist is more than a career. It is a calling built on creativity, connection, and confidence. Over the years, I have had the honor of working with women during some of the most meaningful moments in their lives. Whether I am creating a timeless bridal look or helping someone get ready for an important event, this work is personal and powerful.
Here are five things I absolutely love about what I do.
1. My Clients Are Everything
The women I work with are the heart of this business. Every client brings her own story, energy, and beauty to the chair. From brides on their wedding day to women simply wanting to feel like themselves again, it is always a privilege to be part of those moments. Watching that spark of confidence come to life never gets old.
2. Creativity That Never Stops
Makeup is a form of art. Every face is a fresh canvas and every session gives me the chance to create something new. I get to play with color, texture, and technique while tailoring each look to the individual. Some days are all about soft glam. Others call for something more bold. That variety keeps me inspired and always learning.
3. Traveling for What I Love
This career has taken me to some beautiful places. I have worked in stunning venues across North Augusta, Augusta, Aiken, and beyond. From getting ready suites in historic buildings to quiet outdoor weddings, every location brings a new experience. The travel adds a sense of adventure and makes each job feel special.

4. Transformations That Go Beyond the Surface
There is something powerful about seeing a woman light up when she looks in the mirror. Makeup can enhance features, but more importantly, it can shift how someone feels. When a bride tears up after seeing her final look or a client walks away standing taller, those are the moments that remind me why this work matters.
5. Freedom to Build My Own Business
Being a makeup artist has given me the flexibility to create a career that works for my life. I decide who I work with, what projects I take on, and how I want to grow. That kind of freedom has allowed me to stay grounded in my values while still pushing forward professionally.
Makeup artistry is not just about how someone looks. It is about how they feel. It is about listening, connecting, and using a brush to bring out what is already there. I am so grateful for every woman who sits in my chair and trusts me with her vision.
