Mary Beth Photography took these gorgeous portraits of Bella for her 11th birthday. I thought it was a really great idea to take portraits at this age, when most of time, this special age goes undocumented. I also loved the confetti balloons and thought it was the perfect touch! I had so much fun getting to know Bella and pampering her with a makeup session.
I am so lucky to have met this gorgeous young lady and her beautiful mom! They have been coming to me for a couple of years now and they always brighten up my studio! Jasmine likes to have more of a natural look so for her senior pictures, we went for a soft contour eye and thin liner with some smudge under her eye to really make them stand out. Since she has such thick and long lashes, so I just added mascara to top it off. I also keep the rest of her face natural with light contour and a pop of color on her cheeks. For her lips, we chose a soft pink with brown undertones that kept the look fresh.
Here are the details on her look….

When brides decide to hire a professional makeup artist for their wedding, it is so important to do a makeup trial first. This allows the bride to be able to adjust her look before the wedding day. This way, on the bride’s big day, she can sit back and relax knowing that she is going to look exactly like she has always pictured!
Lauren came to me for her bridal trial where I spent some time with her and got to know more of what she wanted. Here is Lauren’s final bridal look.

I love when someone steps out of their box and tries something new! In this case, Angela took a big leap out of her comfort zone and had some stunningly beautiful boudoir portraits taken by Mary Beth’s Photography for her husband’s 50th birthday! Of course, I wanted to make Angela’s amazing blue eyes pop, so I did a dark, smokey, sexy eye topped with liner and false lashes. Finished with flawless skin and a soft berry lip.
Angela had so many wonderful things to say about working with Mary Beth. She said she made her feel comfortable while taking her portraits and I think the proof is in the pictures … relaxed and gorgeous. Angela said that her husband was in shock when he opened his gift and had a smile on his face that just wouldn’t quit.

I have known these girls for what seems like forever and I have to tell you, they became seniors in the blink of an eye! I was excited when I was able to do their makeup for their senior pictures! I used the same eye makeup palette on both of the girls, just in different ways so they would look totally different and accentuate their own personal style.

I am so lucky to be able to work with some wonderful, dedicated and hard working women. I believe that women should support each other, lift each other up and learn from each other. I have found my “tribe” of women who each have these qualities, who make me better and make my business better. We often get together to help with our businesses, bounce ideas off of and learn new ideas. Now, I’m not going to lie…. sometimes we do this over wine and food, which makes it even more fun! See below! 👇🏻
I have aligned myself with two of the best women in their fields, Mary Beth and Dana! Mary Beth with Mary Beth’s Photography, creativity always amazes me. She creates all of her own sets and her portraits are stunning! By the way, most of the portraits you see on my website are from her. She has an all natural light studio in North Augusta that specializes in maternity, newborns, children, family, senior and wedding portraits. Here is one of her adorable first year moments portraits…
You can check out her website here! Don’t forget to follow her on social media to see her sneak peeks and learn more about her work … Facebook and Instagram. Makeup on Mary Beth, pictured below, by me.
Dana with Dolce Delights by Dana is also part of this “tribe.” She creates the most delectable and delicious desserts. Not only are her cakes and cream pies gorgeous, they are literally the best things I’ve ever eaten! She creates custom order cakes and desserts, including wedding cakes! Dana is always sharing pics of her work on her Facebook and Instagram so go follow her!
Here is a photo by Mary Beth’s Photography of one of Dana’s delicious cakes for a cake smash! Side note….do you believe the babies actually smash it? It’s so perfect! 😱
So, now I’m curious? Do you have a tribe of women that you count on? If so, I want to hear about it!
This beauty came to me to have her makeup professionally done for the first time for a special occasion …. husband was being honored with an award at his work! Lectoria was wearing a black dress with gold accents so we decided to go with a smokey eye topped with a bit of gold shimmer and bright lip to make her extra glam for the evening! I also added a set of lashes to give an even more dramatic effect. Details on look below.

I love when I get to see this beautiful girl! Last weekend, I got to do her makeup for her senior pictures. Normally, Madison likes her makeup natural but we stepped it up just a bit for her photos.
Did you know when someone is taking your photo, your makeup can look slightly different? That’s why you need to add some extra color on cheeks and especially on your lips. Also, always fill in your brows because they will also get lighter in photographs.

Lately, I’ve been asked to do makeup for several different kinds of portraits. I love being able to show my range, whether it is for a bride and her bridal party, commercial shoot, maternity or professional headshots! This one happens to be for an attorney who speaks at several events during the year and needed a new headshot. Of course, this portrait was taken by the talented Mary Beth’s Photography.
My goal when I apply makeup is to make my client feel as confident and comfortable as possible, along with feeling extra beautiful . When my clients feel this was, I think all of these things are revealed in photos. So, makeup is just not about how you look on the outside, by how you feel on the inside!
